Karnataka, nestled in southern India, serves as the vibrant heart of the country's coffee production. Renowned for its premium Arabica coffees, Karnataka boasts ideal growing conditions with farms resting at an elevation of around 1200 meters. Smallholder farmers, in partnership with the respected Hassan Mill, meticulously cultivate coffee beneath lush canopies of evergreen leguminous trees, intercropping with spices, pepper, cardamom, vanilla, orange, and banana trees, adding layers of complexity to the coffee grown there.
This particular coffee lot, sourced in collaboration with Allanasons, features peaberry beans—a rare genetic mutation occurring naturally when only a single seed develops within the coffee cherry, resulting in smaller, denser, and highly prized beans. Carefully selected and processed using the washed method, these coffees deliver clarity and brightness.
The final cup distinctly captures Karnataka's charm, showcasing delightful notes of milk chocolate, crisp red apple, and sweet cane sugar. Every sip is an invitation into India's rich tradition of coffee craftsmanship.
